Welcome – Cadin Bearnson, CSW

Cadin is a Clinical Social Worker who started his career in law enforcement. He received his Law enforcement certificate, SWAT Certificate, and CIT. He also pursued an education at Southern Utah Valley University. He received his bachelor’s in psychology and chose to continue his education at Utah State University and completed his master’s in social work. Cadin has experience working with couples, relationships, adult attachment issues, and law enforcement related concerns. He has also works with many individuals experiencing anxiety and depression. When working with couples Cadin likes to utilize EFT informed Therapy. When working with individuals he likes to utilize acceptance commitment to therapy or ACT. However, he will also look at what the client needs and best approach the session as needed. Cadin’s passion is to work with first responders and couples, but loves all clientele and the growth that difference situations can bring him. He spent the last five years working law enforcement and has a good understanding of the harsh reality the first responders sometimes face. During Cadin’s clinical education and training he put a lot of time into learning how to help couples. He enjoys helping people find the negative patterns in their life that have been contributing negatively to their relationships or their own personal mental health, and changing those patterns. Outside of work, Cadin loves baking, woodworking, working out, and playing computer games. Another passion of his is to ride his motorcycle, it gives him a sense of freedom and balance.

Welcome – Gary Weeks, CMHC

Gary is a graduate intern from Grand Canyon University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC), as part of his studies, he has specialized in Marriage and Family Therapy. He completed his undergraduate studies at Weber State University in Family Studies and Health. He is a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE-P) through the National Council of Family Relations (NCFR) and a Licensed Hospital Crisis Worker with experience in crisis intervention at the University of Utah’s Huntsman Mental Health Institute. Gary has worked as a first responder for twenty years and has extensive experience in crisis intervention. He was a founding member of the Weber/Morgan Safe Kids Coalition and the Domestic Violence Coalition. Gary has developed a passion for working with individuals of all ages, from children to older adults. He is uniquely trained to assist with a wide range of issues and admires the courage it takes to start counseling. He believes in fostering a safe, welcoming, no-judgment zone where you can embark on your healing journey. Gary employs evidence and strength-based methods in the therapeutic journey. He believes in people’s ability to learn and change for the better to achieve their desired goals. He aims to help you live a healthier, happier life filled with direction and purpose.

Welcome – Charlotte Richards , LCSW

Charlotte is a licensed clinical social worker who started her education at Brigham Young University – Hawaii. After soaking up the sun and receiving her Bachelor of Social Work she decided to continue her education at the University of Utah and complete a Master of Social Work. Charlotte has experience working with mood disorders, autism and spectrum disorders, anxiety, ADHD, life transitions, grief, and crisis evaluation/intervention. She also has a background in medical social work, school social work, residential treatment, and adoption. Charlotte enjoys working with a wide range of ages and life challenges, but has a particular passion with adolescents. Their honesty, resilience, and unpredictability not only keeps her sharp, but also inspires her daily. She offers a supportive and empathetic space, meeting individuals, couples, and families where they are, and walking with them toward healing and growth.

Welcome – Cholana Nichols, ACMHC

Cholana completed her Bachelors in Philosophy from BYU. She then decided to continue her education at the University of Phoenix where she received her clinical mental health counseling MS. If asked what type of therapy she feels most trained in her response is Trauma, including betrayal trauma, interpersonal relationships and communication, and general depression and anxiety. Cholana enjoys working with young adults. However, doing general outpatient, she has worked with a variety of people and conditions and enjoys working with everyone. She enjoys helping people better understand themselves and communicate their needs.

Welcome – Karen Bateman, CSW

Karen went to Weber State University for her education she received two degrees. A BS in Communication with an emphasis in interpersonal and family communication and a BS in Social Work. She then decided to continue her education by receiving three master’s degrees. A Master of Professional Communication, Masters of Education in family Life Education, and a Masters of Social Work. She is very educated and finds happiness in expanding her mind to the fullest. Karen has experience working with grieving children and teens who have experienced loss by the death of someone they love or divorce. She also has extensive experience in working with teens in the high school levels who were dealing with various relationship, homeless, and family problems. Karen will also work with families and has volunteered as a mediator in the Ogden 2nd district court. She enjoys working with children, teens, young adults, couples, singles, and parents. Karen is very interested in people’s stories and helping them by listening with empathy and understanding. She tries to emphasize their strengths and focus on how they can improve their own lives by suggesting ways they can increase their awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, while believing that listening and showing interest in the person is the first step in the therapeutic process. She gets satisfaction when they become self-aware and can break through thought processes that have kept them from living a happier life.

Welcome – Angie Dean, LCSW

Angie is a LCSW who attended Utah Valley University and received her Bachelors of Social Work with a minor in advance substance use counseling. She then continued her education by pursuing her masters of Social work at the university of Utah. With her role as a crisis worker she has worked with all different types of diagnosis including depression, anxiety, serious and persistent mental health including schizophrenia, delusional disorders, and Bipolar Disorders. She also has experience working with individuals experiencing personality disorders. However what Angie finds most fulfilling is when she can help individuals and families align their goals and perspectives. She derives great satisfaction in helping individuals struggling with addiction move into actionable steps to recovery. Angie enjoys grief counseling in all its forms. To help her clients she employs humor with sensitivity to help engage and address pivotal issues, making the therapeutic process enjoyable and effective. She believes in candid conversations that recognize the clients strengths all while address their areas of growth. Angie believes that individuals have intrinsic values and will help them learn how to optimize their own skill set to build a healthy recovery. She tries to meet clients where they are at, by building trust and skill sets so the client can see progress as soon as possible.
